The thing about sitting down every week to write this blog post is that I never quite know, where it’s going to take me. I’d love to say that – as per my new years resolutions – I’m writing blog posts way in advance and am super organised with it all. The reality is just not that though. And to be honest, I kind of like that. Nothing gets designer juices flowing more than an impending deadline. The adrenaline starts pumping and then the rest just flows…we were together, I forget the rest.

We were together, I forget the rest. - Walt WhitmanClick To Tweet

Words by Walt Whitman

This quote by Walt Whitman has long been on my list of favorites. Remember Noah’s dad in “the Notebook” made him read Walt Whitman to help him get over his stutter? (love that movie) Anyway, this particular quote often gets used for signs at weddings and such, but I find myself applying it more and more to my family life too. So many things seem to lose importance and vibrancy in my mind when compared to the really important part. I was together with my hubby and my boys. And that’s what means the most to me.

In similar style I’m also staring down my 1 year business anniversary coming up on April 25. Can you believe it? My little ETSY shop has nearly been part of my life for an entire year…crazy… yet again… I seem to forget some details, but Charming Chestnuts has been with me through some ups and downs. We too were together, it has been my creative outlet and a dream come true … the rest, well, you get it…

What is your favorite quote? Do you ever take it out of the context that most people apply it to (aka weddings) and give it a special meaning for yourself? Ever think “I wish Natasha would create a printable for this quote next”? Let me hear them, I’m always on the hunt for inspiration. Who knows, maybe one of these days I will have blog posts planned out and written in advance…until then

Happy Monday people!
