As a small business owner you have to wear many hats. While it’s tempting to just focus on the fun things, the boring stuff that needs doing always seems to multiply…and I can’t ever seem to get to the end of my to-do-list to actually get to the want-to-do-list. Also common is the feeling that you’re alone in it all. I like to call myself an entrepreneur, a solo-preneur, a creative-preneur, a lady-preneur or even mom-boss. I mean, was there every really a question who the boss is?

But this week, I happily found myself reminded of another role I like to play: COLLABORATOR

Working together brings out the best in us

I truly see it as a gift to have found a profession that I’m good at and that I love, but of course there are many aspects that could enhance my business that don’t really have that much to do with Graphic Design as such. Enter: Other boss babes who have found their own talent and created a different business and are missing a bit of design help.

I loved coming together over a nice cup of tea to hash out some new logo, business names and networking ideas. Did someone say wedding styling??? When a planner and a stationary designer come together…look out.

And how can I not share these drool-worthy images that Rebecca Stone captured? There was of course a whole team of professionals that brought their A-game and made the beautiful end-result possible. It’s one thing for me to create a beautiful invitations suite, another all together for a photographer to capture the feeling a bride would have while sending her love out in these invitations – what that event would mean to someone. And therefore then to allow me to show other future brides what they can hope for when they work with Charming Chestnuts. Thank you Rebecca Stone! You’ve said it beautifully: “Teamwork really does make the dream-work, ya’ll.”
