Whoo-hooo, the countdown is on… last week before Christmas! As we head into the business end of this holiday season I find myself reflecting, not only on the year that was, but also on the relationships in my life – the good, the bad and the ones that make sense to only me and that other person (here’s looking at you kid 😉). And I am so very thankful that I get to be a part of them.
Having lived the life I’ve had, a lot of my friendships are not what you would call “conventional”. I don’t get to see most of my friends every day, every week or even every year. And while that often means, that when the meetups or phone calls do happen, sometimes getting past the everyday events in a narrative way is all that there is time for, there are also those people in my life that skip through the rough and lost time and are truly there for the heart-to-hearts at a moment’s notice. Never mind that there’s been more time than either of us wish in between these conversations.

I want to make sure that I don’t take them for granted. So please know, that while once again, we’re not celebrating this time together, while it’s certainly unsure of when we’ll see each other again – or, even talk to one another with life always getting in the way, you still hold that extra special place in my heart…now and always. Merry Christmas!
