The story goes like this: I loved the original Beauty and the Beast cartoon so much, that when I was a girl my VHS tape (totally not aging myself here) ripped because it got rewound and played so much. Something about a small town girl knowing there’s more out there and facing her fears to find her place in the world resonated with me early on.

You might be surprised then, that it has taken me this long to actually go see the real live redo that Disney has produced. What can I say? Life, and especially 2 little Chestnuts sometimes make it hard for this mummy to get away. But let me tell you: I was blown away! Emma Watson nailed it and gave my favorite Disney girl even more boss babe power.

I want adventure

If you’ve been following along with my journey, you’ll know, that before I’ve settled in the beautiful South, I grew up in a “small provincial town”. In Germany, not France, but you get the idea. While some of my Childhood friends have not strayed all that far from home and I am sometimes jealous of that,  I also always knew that the world was calling me.

I wanted adventure. I wanted to see other ways to live and create my own path. And while it’s certainly not as straightforward as the Disney version (find cursed prince – fall in love – break spell – live happily ever after), I definitely found my adventure. The best part of course is, that not only is it not over, but I also get to share it with some very special people.

Happy birthday Charming Chestnuts ETSY!

Another aspect of my crazy life of course is this business venture of mine that tomorrow will officially be 1 year old! Can you believe it? It’s been an absolutely life changing experience for me and a path to finding sides and dreams inside myself that I didn’t even know existed. I found my passion with Charming Chestnuts and I’m determined to one day (hopefully not too far in the future) be able to solely be my own boss. I want adventure to take me and my little Chestnuts tribe even further and I want to create a life of financial freedom for my boys. Fingers crossed.

How about you? Are you on your adventure? Or are you more the kind for a predictable steady path (absolutely nothing wrong with that)? I know my best friends dad always gets nervous when she tells him about the next crazy turn my adventure is taking. It’s not for everyone. But isn’t that another thing that makes life so great? We all get to be on our own adventure, however crazy – or not – that might be.

Happy Monday people!
