Hello and welcome to Charming Chestnuts!
Wow, I’m so excited to finally be starting on this adventure that is this blog. It’s been a long time coming.
I’ve been subconsciously planning this for a few years now and actively preparing for the last few months.
“A few months?”, you ask. Yes. One thing you’ll get to know about me is that I am a perfectionist at heart and want to get things right. There was so much to research, plan, design and research…have I mentioned that already – I mean, there really was a lot of research. The wealth of information for new and coming bloggers through Pinterest and the like is mindboggeling. But after much – probably too much – time preparing it’s finally time to spring into action.
The first step for me was to open up my ETSY shop, and wow, what a learning curve that has been. But I’m slowly getting there, understanding the ETSY jargon better every day and have even recorded my first sales, along with my first 5 star reviews – WHOOHOO!!!
So naturally there has to be a second step and this is where this little spot of internet realty comes into play. This is where I want to share my inspirations with you, offer some freebie printables, share what’s new in the shop and insights into other events I’ve created designs for. The way I see it, there’s too much design and typography crime out there to not do my bit to fight the good cause – one printable or invitation at a time.

And since this will also signify a new chapter in my life, and I needed a definite no-can’t-change-it-date for me to set as a deadline to finally stop the procrastination and research, I decided that this blog will launch on my birthday this year – kind of as a present to myself. So happy birthday Charming Chestnuts and happy birthday to me!
I also want to share part of my family adventure with you – and how can I call it anything else when I’m lucky enough to share this life with the two most precious little boys (OK, I’m totally biased here, but I’m allowed 😉) and a husband who’s been by my side every step of the way.
So let’s get this show on the road, let’s connect, be friends and get creative.
