Full-time with a side of hustle
3 months ago I was presented with the opportunity to work on a freelance basis for a great company. The people are great, the pay is good and the office was just renovated. Awesome….BUT…there’s alway a but, right? This meant that I had to be prepared to accept a slow in growth for Charming Chestnuts for a while. I simply don’t have as much time as I used to to devote to promotion and creating new content and designs. It has been quite the hectic change to our family lifestyle and I’m so proud of how my boys and hubby have adjusted.
The question of course came up at the time of whether I would just put a hold on the business, pick it back up when the contract ended. But if there was ever something that I questioned about this situation, this was definitely not one of them. NO WAY! I had and am working too hard and enjoying the work too much to ever consider quitting for something as silly as full-time employment.

See, while the growth has definitely slowed, it hasn’t stopped. And today, while I’m staring down the sales numbers on my dashboard to tick over from 498 to an even 500 for the Charming Chestnuts ETSY shop, I couldn’t feel better about not ever giving up. I’ve had to push myself some days to lift the lid on the laptop after a long day at the office, but the fire inside me to make the dream of full-time-entrepreneur a reality is still burning strong. One day – some day – soon….

I hope this reaches you when you might need to hear it. Everything might not always move or happen as quickly as we’d like it too, but even some movement is better than none at all…If we put our mind to it, we will reach the goal in the end. Sometimes we just have to be patient with ourselves and the process.
