Ever hear of the word “hangry”? It’s basically a term used for someone who gets angry and cranky when they’re hungry – aka ME! Ask some friends of mine who worked with me while I was pregnant and they’ll tell you that pregnancy only enhances this character trait – oops. Well, this week I was reminded that little Chestnut #2 also follows along in my footsteps on this one.
Hangry tantrums
While he’s generally on a quest these days to see how long one can survive on bread and mashed potatoes (seriously kid, this is not funny anymore), he does eat a fair amount. Being 2 years old and not quite capable of expressing everything he wants to say (and it does seem to be a lot) in a comprehensible manner just yet, he hit a little snag this Saturday. He got HANGRY!
The poor thing was hungry, but couldn’t quite figure it out. This resulted in sizable and quite uncharacteristic tantrums from this tiny human I created. Unbelievable! Luckily I figured the problem out in the end and guess what…some good food brought the good mood.
So this week your printable is intended for your kitchen or dining space. Because while we make the magic happen in our office or our desk, the fuel to power through comes from there. And why shouldn’t the “heart of the home” not also receive a bit of Charming Chestnut love.

So lesson learnt. The way to a man’s heart – especially my 3 men (yes, the other 2 also don’t function all that well when they’re hungry) – is through his stomach. Turns out this saying also applies to 2 year-olds…There’s something about good food that brings out good moods in everyone. Wishing you a delicious week!
Happy Monday people!
